ADA is best described as a de-escalation protocol. Some may also describe it as a Crisis prevention criterion. Simplistically, ADA helps people manage things that may escalate themselves and others. Protection covers both verbal & physical techniques.
2 -day Class = Prevention Day 1 + Protection Day 2
(length of each day is dependent on class size, estimated 4- 6 hours per day)
This training satisfies NCDHHS’ use of non-restrictive and restrictive crisis intervention strategies.
